THE ARMADILLO BOX ( LA CAJA DEL CACHICAMO ) - 1974 Caracas, Venezuela

"For the expression 'The armadillo box”, Barboza offered the public a large

square wooden box of 1.50 Mts per edge and on each side they came out two

(2) long strips of cloth of 50 Mts each hanging large bells along the edges , the

whole element in red and the long strips were printed in extreme white the

word CACHICAMO repeated several times, accompanied by popular music, and

Venezuelan and Latin American folklore, to be presented to the public attending

the parks and Squares. The possessed public of the box uses it as it pleases: dance, jump, play, cover

with it, run pulling the strips, sing, scream, laugh, communicate, giving rise to an

atmosphere of plasticity created by the actions of the participants."
